Asset & Equipment Finance

Asset & Equipment Finance

Asset finance funds the equipment, vehicles or machinery a business needs, rather than committing cash reserves to buy it outright. The asset itself is the security, available through hire purchase, finance lease, or refinance of assets you already own.

Three ways to fund an asset

The right structure depends on whether you want to own the asset, use it without owning it, or release cash from one you already have.

Hire purchase

You pay in fixed instalments over an agreed term and own the asset outright once the final payment is made.

Finance lease

You use the asset for an agreed period in return for fixed rentals. Off-balance-sheet treatment varies depending on the structure and your accounting standard.

Asset refinance (sale and leaseback)

You release cash tied up in assets you already own outright, refinancing them while continuing to use them day to day.

How it works

  1. Tell us the asset, its approximate value, and whether it is new or used.
  2. We match the structure — hire purchase, finance lease or refinance — to how you want to use and eventually own the asset.
  3. You review terms against the asset value and useful life before deciding.
  4. A decision is typically possible within 24 to 72 hours.

Who this typically suits

  • Businesses investing in equipment to support growth, without tying up working capital.
  • Businesses replacing or upgrading existing assets on a planned cycle.
  • Businesses that would rather preserve cash reserves than pay for an asset outright.

When it is not the right fit

  • If the asset has little or no resale value, most asset finance lenders will not fund it — a Business Loan may be a more workable route.

  • If the actual need is general working capital rather than a specific piece of equipment, Business Loans are a more direct fit.
